can anyone join?
Our choirs are open to anyone aged 16 years and over. There are no auditions. As our emphasis is on having fun, you don’t need to be an experienced singer, as long as you’re an enthusiastic one!
What kind of songs do you sing?
Current chart music, classic pop and rock, soul, Motown, musical theatre and anything else we like the sound of! Songs are often suggested by our members too.
When and where are rehearsals?
Northwich meets on Mondays at 7:30 - 9pm at Wincham Community Centre (CW9 6EP)
Nantwich meets on Tuesdays at 7:30 - 9pm at Nantwich Primary Academy (CW5 5LX)
do you do performances?
Yes! We love having something to work towards and perform at least once per term. However, if the idea of performing in front of a crowd doesn’t appeal to you, it’s not compulsory. You’re still very welcome to join and simply enjoy the process of learning the songs and singing in the rehearsals.
In the run up to Christmas we get invited to perform at lots of events from local care homes and community parties to private events and weddings.
Whenever we are invited to perform we always check we have enough choir members available first before accepting the booking.
FAQs
How much does it cost to join?
The Choir fees are £8.50 per session, paid as a full term in advance - but don’t forget your first taster session is FREE!
Since our terms vary in length each payment will be different. For example, a term of 12 sessions is £102.
If you take part in any public performances you may also need to purchase uniform which comes at an additional cost.
can i join at any time?
Yes! While it’s best to join as close to the start of each term as possible (so you have more time to learn the songs), if you join partway through the term our system will only charge you for the remaining weeks in that term.
what if i don’t read music?
No problem! When we learn a new song we hand out lyric sheets and all choir members are given access to downloadable rehearsal tracks to practice parts at home, which is especially helpful if you’re unable to make a rehearsal.
All songs at choir are learnt in a ‘call and response’ way; the choir leader will sing your part to you and you sing it back until we’re all happy you know it!
Members also have access to sheet music to print off at home for those who do read music. If you don’t read music but want to learn, we run a daytime workshop once a year to help you understand how it works.
